Bayan Coffee Farm-to-Cup Experience

From Rinjani's Soil to Your Cup

Discover where the story of coffee begins with the Bayan Coffee Farm-to-Cup Experience—a slow, local journey through the coffee-growing landscapes on the northern slopes of Mount Rinjani. Follow coffee's journey from mountain soil and village farms to cherries, beans, and finally a freshly prepared cup.

This is more than a coffee tasting. It is an opportunity to experience the landscape, people, traditions, and agricultural knowledge behind every cup.

Walk through village and farming areas, discover how coffee is cultivated and processed, meet local farmers when available, and enjoy locally produced coffee surrounded by the landscapes that helped grow it. The coffee is the drink. The landscape, people, and story are the experience.

The Farm-to-Cup Journey

Coffee does not follow a tourist timetable. The exact activities you experience depend on the season and what farmers are doing on the day. You may see coffee trees flowering, cherries ripening, harvesting, drying, or other stages of production. Your guide will explain the real agricultural process happening around you.

The journey follows the story of coffee:

Seed → Tree → Cherry → Harvest → Processing → Drying → Roasting → Brewing → Cup

This is real farm-to-cup tourism—shaped by nature, seasons, and the rhythm of village life.

A Real Farm Experience

Bayan's coffee-growing areas are influenced by a tropical mountain climate, and farming is naturally seasonal. Weather and agricultural conditions may affect what you see and do during your visit. If heavy rain makes farm access unsuitable, the experience may be adapted to include coffee processing, tasting, or another suitable activity.

Agricultural areas are working environments, so guests should wear comfortable shoes, follow their guide, watch their footing, respect private spaces, and ask permission before photographing farmers.

Coffee is only the beginning. The deeper story is about people and place.

Around Bayan, agriculture is connected to family life, local knowledge, water, weather, the mountain environment, and changing opportunities. A responsible visit means listening, learning, asking permission, buying locally when possible, and respecting the people who make the experience possible.
