The experience combines cultural discovery, village life, agriculture, food, crafts, forests, and waterfalls. The itinerary remains flexible and may change depending on weather, seasonal agriculture, community activities, and local availability.

Day 2: Forest, Waterfalls & Rinjani Landscape

This is not a summit trekking program. Walking takes place along village paths, rice fields, agricultural tracks, forest trails, and waterfall routes. The waterfall section is the most physically demanding, with stairs, uneven ground, and potentially muddy terrain.

Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.

Rinjani is still a mountain, even when we are being polite about it.

DAY 1 — Culture, Village Life & Rinjani's Living Landscape

Meet your local guide and begin with an introduction to Bayan, the surrounding landscape, local etiquette, and the journey ahead.

Bayan Heritage & Living Culture

Explore Bayan's cultural landscape, traditional architecture, community spaces, and living traditions. Rather than simply looking at buildings, discover why cultural spaces matter and how heritage continues alongside modern life.

The goal is simple: to help you see more deeply.

Walk Through Village Life

Continue through the village and observe everyday life. You may encounter families, farmers, gardens, small shops, livestock, local businesses, and community activities.

These are people's homes and workplaces—not a theme park. The best cultural experience always begins with respect.

Bayan Weaving Experience

When available, meet a local weaving artisan and discover the stories behind traditional textiles. Learn about threads, colours, patterns, tools, techniques, and the patience required to create handmade cloth.

Where appropriate, you may try a simple weaving activity yourself—and quickly discover why professional weavers deserve so much respect.

Local Lunch

Enjoy a simple local meal depending on your selected package and availability. Food is one of the easiest—and most delicious—ways to begin a conversation and experience everyday culture.

Bayan Coffee Farm-to-Cup Experience

Continue into Bayan's agricultural landscape and discover how coffee grows on the slopes influenced by Rinjani.

Depending on the season, you may see coffee plants, cherries, harvesting, drying, or processing activities. Meet local farmers when available and follow coffee's journey from farm to cup before enjoying a freshly prepared local coffee.

Rice Fields & Agricultural Landscape

Walk through the surrounding fields and discover the relationship between water, farming, and village life. The landscape changes with the seasons—from bright green and golden fields to newly planted or recently harvested land.

Rinjani Sunset Walk

As afternoon turns into evening, walk toward a suitable viewpoint and watch the landscape change colour.

When conditions are clear, Mount Rinjani may provide a spectacular backdrop to the setting sun.

Sunset is included. A spectacular sunset is provided by nature and cannot be guaranteed.

Evening in Bayan

Return to your accommodation or selected local homestay for dinner and a relaxed evening. This is often the best time for conversation—the questions that appear after a day of walking and discovering.

DAY 2 — Forest, Waterfalls & Rinjani

Morning Village Life

Wake up to the sounds and rhythm of Bayan. Depending on the season and location, you may see farmers beginning their day, gardens, local food preparation, and village roads slowly coming alive.

Enjoy breakfast before continuing toward the forested northern slopes of Rinjani.

Journey into the Forest

Watch the landscape change from villages and agricultural land into tropical forest. Along the way, discover how forests, water, agriculture, and communities are connected.

Sendang Gile Waterfall

Begin your forest walk toward Sendang Gile Waterfall. Take your time, enjoy the sounds of the forest, and follow your guide's safety instructions along the route.

Tiu Kelep Waterfall

Continue deeper into the forest toward Tiu Kelep Waterfall. The route may be wetter and more uneven, but the journey offers a memorable experience of Rinjani's natural environment.

Depending on conditions and local guidance, there may be an opportunity to enjoy the water.

Forest & Rinjani Interpretation

Take time to understand the landscape around you. Learn about forests, water sources, agriculture, tourism, and the importance of Rinjani to local communities.

This is where the journey connects.

Yesterday, you walked through the fields. Today, you experience part of the landscape that helps sustain them.

Local Lunch & Farewell

Enjoy a well-earned lunch before your final journey onward.

Weather & Safety

Bayan is a tropical mountain environment, and weather can change quickly. You may experience sunshine, rain, humidity, cooler forest temperatures, muddy paths, and wet waterfall trails.

Your guide will monitor conditions and adjust activities when necessary. We respect the mountain's weather more than our itinerary.

Please wear proper walking shoes, carry drinking water, bring rain and sun protection, follow your guide, stay on designated paths, and take care around waterfalls and slippery surfaces. Always ask permission before photographing local people.

If you're tired, say so. There is no prize for pretending your legs are still twenty-five.
